New for old
An insured item is damaged. You file a claim. It’s approved, and you’re reimbursed the current market value of the insured item.
Example: You bought a couch 10 years ago for €1,000. It’s destroyed in a fire. Buying the same or similar couch brand new costs €3,000. Covered! You’re reimbursed €3,000.
Worldwide coverage
In addition to Germany, you’ll be covered abroad: up to 12 months anywhere in the world (as long as you still have a registered address in Germany).
Example: You’re on holiday or visiting family or friends abroad. Your hotel (or your parents’s house) is burglarised, and your fancy camera is stolen. Covered!
Gross negligence included
If your stuff gets damaged or destroyed because you made a silly mistake, you’re still covered.
